Ritalin is a psychostimulant which stimulates an additional synthesis of dopamine in the brain. People with low level of dopamine experience difficulties with a concentration of attention, show high activity and often commit impulsive actions.

Such behavior for children may mean an incomplete development in the society, and therefore Ritalin helps to improve the interaction of a child with world.

The efficiency of Ritalin for adults has been studied by leading medical laboratories. But the causes of ADHD in adults are different, so that the use of Ritalin is doubtful.

Administration and dosage

Ritalin is produced in pills for the oral use. To treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children, it is recommended to begin the treatment from the lowest dose of Ritalin 1 mg per 1 kg of the body weight.

The daily dose is used in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast and with a full glass of water.

If there is no evident effect within 1-2 weeks, the dose of Ritalin may be increased up to 1,5 mg per 1 kg of the body weight, but not more than 60 mg per day.

It is not recommended to take more than 60 mg of Ritalin per day because the side effects may appear due to the high dose.

Recommendations for the use

A light euphoria is possible during the use of Ritalin within the first 2-3 weeks. This feeling appears within 2-4 hours after the consumption of a pill.
